Programs – Experience the History Around Us
1871 Township Bell from the original Town hall
Throughout the year, the Brimfield Historical Society & Kelso House Museum host several annual events. These range from the Kelso Lyceum Series, which offered speakers and presentations based around the interests of some of our adult members; to the Annual Meeting of the Membership in June, which offers a chance for all of our members to meet and talk about different topics of local history and Historical Society matters.

Kelso Lyceum Series
The Kelso Lyceum Series offers programs geared towards the interests of adults. Most of the events are held in the McCormick Heritage Meeting Room on the lower level of the Kelso House. These events are held throughout the year.
Annual Meeting of the Membership
The Annual Meeting of the Membership is held on the third Monday of June each year. This dinner meeting serves to thank our outgoing Board Members and welcome our new Members, as well as to give us time to spend with friends and reflect on the past year.
Kelso House Holiday Gathering
The Holiday Gathering, held in early December each year, offers a short program and informal meal with friends for a pleasant start to the holiday season.
Annual Easter Egg Hunt
The annual Easter Egg Hunt is held each year on the Saturday before Easter on the grounds of the Kelso House Museum. This event provides fun for children of all ages. During the event we host not only an Easter Egg Hunt, but the Easter Bunny, a petting zoo, raffles, refreshments and special prizes.
Election Day Dinner
This event is held on the Tuesday of Election Day each November. This meal follows the tradition started in early communities of sharing a meal after gathering on election day to vote. We have continued this tradition and serve a home-style meal of creamed chicken and biscuits with all the trimmings.
Annual Membership Drive & Event
This event takes place each fall, and is unique to each calendar year; for more information about this event, feel free to contact the Museum Office, and request to speak with the Curator or the Membership Chairman.
Annual Tea
This event is held annually, with actual date different each year. We focus on holidays, seasons, or specific topics for each party. This event is used as a social event to enjoy each other’s company. All are welcome!
Christmas Family Fun Day
This event is held on a Saturday in early December. It offers numerous crafts and activities at multiple skill levels for fun for the entire family.
