As part of our 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2013, the mission of the Brimfield Historical Society was refocused and revised. Our new mission statement is as follows:
The Brimfield Historical Society aims to inspire the community by collecting, preserving and exhibiting artifacts from the township’s past and fostering connections to people and ideas.
The organization was originally founded as the Brimfield Memorial House Association, in 1963, as an effort to save the Kelso House, which was slated for demolition. Over the past fifty plus years our membership has grown, as well as our archive and collection. The Museum grounds now include three outbuildings, the Kelso House itself, and the Saxe House, which serves as the Historical Society Office.
