Current BMHA Projects
Brimfield School Arch Project
In collaboration with Brimfield Township Trustees and the Field Local Board of Education, the BMHA has preserved the stone arch from the historic Brimfield Elementary School building adjacent to the Kelso House Commons. Plans to restore and rebuild the arch are in progress. (Click here to learn more.)
New Siding for Kelso House
The siding on the Kelso House facing north will be replaced in October. Earlier this summer the deteriorating wood on the south and west sides was stripped, replaced with red cedar, and covered with three coats of high quality paint.
Michael Cable Barn Project
Flooring of the Michael Cable Barn is being removed and in some areas replaced due to a Powder-Post Beetle infestation.
Museum Book Inventory
President Helena Parry and Trustees Ray and Susanne Heisey are conducting an inventory of all books housed in the Museum. All titles will be entered in a data base for easy access and location.
Oral History
The Association continues to gather oral and written recollections for our archives. Contact the Kelso House for more information about this ongoing project.
Adopt a Window
The Association is in the process of installing twenty-three new blinds in the museum. The blinds will block out 85% of the ultraviolet light that cause deterioration of the museum’s contents. New curtains are also needed for parlor windows.
If you would like to support this project, the prices for replacements are listed below:
