Kelso House Museum
A seasonal view of the Kelso House.

The Brimfield Memorial House Association formed in 1963 when a group of local people joined forces to save one of Brimfield's historical homes from demolition.

Today that structure is the home of the Kelso House Museum, a facility that includes collections of photographs, books, and other resource materials that indicate what life was like for residents of this rural community dating from its founding in 1816.

Buildings and artifacts adjacent to the Kelso House include

  • The granary and double-bayed corn crib from the former John Boosinger, Jr. farm. Inside is an exhibit of antique tools.
  • The Michael Barn, a nicely preserved example of a New England style barn.
  • A mill stone from nearby Plum Creek Mill rests on the north side of the Kelso House, adjacent to the memorial herb garden.
  • The bell from the original Brimfield Town Hall is installed near the front of the main house.

We welcome your interest and participation. Come join us.
